Tatum has successfully planned and carried out her first party. She loves reading the book Pinkalicious, so we decided to host a tea party based on the book. Tatum went through the book and picked out the menu, the activities, decided who to invite and chose pictures for the invitations. Tatum was so excited about the coming event and talked about it every two minutes. The girlies all arrived in their most fabulous pink attire and had a pink-erific time eating pink cupcakes, making pink bracelets, painting pink nails, and drinking pink lemonade.
Seriously, I love all these little things you do with her. You inspire me, I wish I was creative enough to even think about doing something like that. Maybe its easier with a girl, something I get to look forward to. Tatum is so lucky. The party looks so fun.
My kids had a BLAST...and LOVED spending the night...I want to have Tatum over now!! They would LOVE to have her too...hee!! I had some fun too while I was there..I almost turned pink!! AHH!! ;)
I am constantly amazed at your creativity with your kids. It makes me excited for Luke to get just a little older to try and do fun things like that. You are a great mom. Keep up the good work.
I got this recipe from my friend Kyra and love it!!!
1 1/2 c. shortening 1 1/3 c. sugar 2 eggs 2 tsp vanilla 3 1/2 c. flour 1 tsp salt 1 tsp soda 1 (14 oz) bottle maraschino cherries chopped (save juice)
Cream sugar and shortening; add eggs and vanilla. Sift flour, salt, and soda together. Add sugar and shortening and egg mixture. Add chopped cherries. Bake at 350 for 8 - 10 minutes.
Frosting: Mix cherry juice, 2 tsp. vanilla and 1 cube butter add powdered sugar one cup at a time, until desired consistency.
