7 Blissful Years

Happy Anniversary to us! May 29th was our seventh anniversary. It is crazy how fast it goes by. We celebrated by going to Wood Ranch (our absolute all-time favorite restaurant), browsing the shops, and trying Pink Berry for the first time (so, so, so yummy). We left all of our children with a babysitter for the first time and had an awesome time together.

Fancy Night

Tatum and I love the book Fancy Nancy. I was inspired by my friend Kyle to have a "Fancy Dinner." We planned a fancy menu: Bacon-wrapped zucchini, cheese on toothpicks, smoked salmon potato pancakes, meringues, and (the best part) white chocolate parfaits. We got dressed in our most fabulous attire, jazzed up the table and practiced using our fancy phrases ("you look simply amazing dah-ling). We had so much fun eating with our pinkies in the air and enjoying the stupendous delicacies.

So Long, Long Hair

I have been wanting to chop my hair for about a year, but haven't had the guts to do it. It takes me roughly an hour to straighten my hair and I have really been frustrated with it lately. So, I finally called Katie (the best stylist in the world) and went for it. I love it! I feel like I lost 10 pounds of weight off my head. (By the way- Tatum took my picture... she is an aspiring photographer now, and she amazingly managed to get a few shots of me with my head included.)

San Diego Wildlife Park

We wondered up and down the elevations of the zoo in blazing hot heat for a few hours with three sometimes happy, sometimes grouchy kids... I think we had fun.

Preschool Graduation 2008

I finished another wonderful year of preschool. It has been a fun year! I will miss my kids that will be going on to kindergarten and look forward to seeing the rest in September.

Tatum completed her first year of preschool. She was the unofficial imagination instigator of the class.

Camden and Tatum have become good little buddies- they definitely have a love-hate thing going on.

Candy from the Earth

Peas have been the hit of the garden this year. My kids can't keep their hands off of them. I have to admit... they are so sweet and yummy! We also grew some strawberries, zucchini, squash, and tomatoes.

Girls Night

Cheesecake Factory and Shopping... need I say more??

A Shout Out for my Favorite Bookstore

This is quite possibly the BEST bookstore ever! The staff is super friendly and it has a friendly, mom and pop feel. They carry almost everything and can try to get you what they don't have. Stephanie Meyer frequents this store- I know she will be there for a book signing when her new Twilight book is released. I also have a quick little story to share about how they touched my life...

My last semester of collage, I had an amazing stash of children's books that I had been collecting over the years, in preparation for teaching. They were my prized possession. I kept them in a huge cardboard box for easy transportation between my internships, classes, nannying and while doing my reading mentoring. One day, my car was broken into, and discovering nothing more than a factory installed tape player, the intruder decided to take my box of books. I was devastated and made up little flyers with a list of the missing books and noted that they all had my name written in them and brought them around to some resell book stores. A week later, Changing Hands Bookstore called and asked if I had any luck, (and I hadn't) and so they told me that they were going to donate many of the books on the list to me. I was so touched. They restored my faith in the goodness of people.

Almost 3 Months!

It has gone by so quickly, but Lyric is almost 3 months old! She has been such a sweetie to have around>. She likes to be entertained (bounced, danced with, talked to in a really high, squeaky voice, etc.) and keeps us pretty busy. She is chunking out (as you can see) and is working on those adorable fat roles. We officially have a thumb sucker in our family. It is so cute, and it is a great way for her sooth herself... probably not as cute six years from now. And, Hallelujah, she is sleeping about ten hours at night!!

Lyric's Shower

So, this is super late- but I wanted to thank Niki and Shelley for the shower. I had so much fun and loved all the beautiful gifts... thanks everyone!

Hiking with the McEuen's

We had so much fun with our friends, the McEuen's when they came down for a visit. Here are some pictures from a hike we went on:Publish Post
We hiked to the natural pools, and saw caterpillars, ladybugs, rabbits, and a lot of snakes.
